Fit for royalty
A highlight of 2018 was supplying a marquee to help ITV with its live coverage of the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The location was Alexandra Gardens in Windsor and our team was onsite very early to build a six by nine metre marquee with an amazing view of Windsor Castle. The space was then used throughout the day for a live broadcast of Good Morning Britain. It provided a stylish backdrop for everyone from the presenters and crew to local school children, a brass band and even a town crier!
Brilliant bakers
The Great British Bake Off marquee is possibly one of the most famous tents of all time. In 2016 we were asked to supply one of our marquees for a photoshoot of that year’s final four. The three metre by three metre marquee played host to Candice Brown (the eventual winner), Andrew Smyth, Jane Beedle and Selasi Gbormittah. These contestants posed with cakes, pastries and more. This photography appeared on the cover of the Radio Times magazine.
Complicated logistics? No problem!
The entertainment industry often has varying complicated needs that can change overnight. Luckily, over 14 years of supplying marquees means that we have significant experience in reacting to ever-changing sites and environments. We also understand the importance of being able to react quickly to our clients’ requests with professional communication and quick solutions.
Our structures come in a range of sizes with different fit out options and control systems to suit all budgets and timeframes. They can go up in as little as 24 hours and then stay up for just a couple of days, or for months on end. Areas such as dressing rooms can also be spacious and open to accommodate lots of people at once. They can also be partitioned off into individual private spaces with all the necessary facilities, such as lighting, carpeting, heating, air conditioning, etc.
Safe, dry and secure storage
It may not be the most glamorous part of a film or TV set but secure onsite storage areas can be invaluable. The right storage space will save you time and money, as everything your team need is close to hand and easy to access.
Food for thought
Keeping everyone well fed is also high on the list of priorities for a successful project. Our catering areas can include everything from a basic selection of kitchenettes and furniture to full commercial kitchens. These areas come complete with non-slip flooring, ventilation and more. For example, we recently supplied a six metre by nine metre marquee for a Channel 4 production of Married at First Sight. The marquee was equipped with matting floors, 19 bistro chairs and 15 trestle tables, so it could be used as a comfortable and spacious canteen area for the cast and crew.
And, relax…
Finally, after long hours on a busy set, people need somewhere to unwind. We can create a green room area equipped with different levels of furnishings and fit outs. This includes essentials such as charging points for phones and laptops, to make sure your key people are well rested and ready to go when you need them. We are able to discuss any of your specific needs that best suit your project.
Save time and money with extra space
The options really are endless and one of our safe, secure and weather-proof structures could be the key to a successful project and a happy cast and crew.
